One of the best things about South West London is the theatre of wildlife which happens in the gardens. Squirrels, parakeets and foxes are but a few actors which thrive in this ecosystem. Planning restrictions meant we had to step the roof structure down to decrease the massing height of the ground floor rear extension. This constraint informed the position of the skylight above. A palette of natural materials are specified and the lowered roof joists exposed to harness biophilic properties.
